I was raised in Southern California with an avid gardener and awesome cook as my mom and an early adopter of healthy living as my dad. Both loved to worship the sun and my dad sure did love his baked goods and ice cream. And yes, I inherited those traits as well. My folks divorced when I was quite young, but the diversity of experience that I gained under their roofs, led me eventually to the path of healing and healer.
As someone who has always been athletic and interested in nutrition, I studied the work of Jack LaLanne, Covert Bailey, Nathan Pritikin, Charles and Patricia Bragg beginning in high school. As an undergraduate student at UCSB I took my first official nutrition course and worked on campus at the Wellness and Fitness Institute. I became interested in herbal medicine and homeopathy during my undergraduate years and studies in France, all of which led me to discover naturopathic medicine and National College of Naturopathic Medicine where I received my Naturopathic Doctor degree.
I’ve now been involved with nutrition and herbal medicine in some capacity for over 30 years and integrative and functional medicine for over 20 years. I “geek-out” over nutrition research and the latest scientific discoveries in natural medicine. In the summer of 2017, after twenty-one years, I decided to retire my "in house" clinical practice, consisting of preventive naturopathic primary care and lifestyle medicine. I am currently focused on executive lifestyle coaching and high level wellness. What that basically means is that I am available on a more personal basis for individuals who are extremely committed and ready to take their health and their lives to the next level of thriving. If you would like to learn more about working with me, please send me a message.
In celebration of launching my new website, when you sign up to receive my newsletter, you will receive a free download of my award-winning cookbook Colorado Fit Kitchen.
